The European Commission's Directorate General for trade is calling for expressions of interest in relation to supporting the Community's external trade policy in the field of intellectual property rights. The Trade DG's Directorate F.4 for trade questions in the field of new technologies, intellectual property and public procurement, is calling for expressions of interest for inclusion in a list of qualified potential contractors for the following types of projects: - legal, economic and technical analysis (through studies, guides and/or workshops) related to the Trade related intellectual property rights (TRIPs) agreement; - analysis of the national legislation of World trade organisation (WTO) members with a view to preparing the notification to the WTO; - technical assistance to advise and assist developing countries in implementing the TRIPs agreement, especially in the field of enforcement. The list will be used solely for contracts whose estimated value is below the threshold laid down in the relevant public procurement Directive (92/50/EEC). Each time a specific project is to be concluded relating to the types of projects listed above, the authorisation department will send specifications to all candidates on the list, or to some of them, selected on the basis of particular criteria for the contract concerned. The list of potential contractors will remain valid for a period of three years as from the date of publication of this call for expressions of interest. The list will be open ended. Any interested contractor may apply for inclusion at any time up to six months before the end of its period of validity.
