Environmental contact points in Sweden
The first issue of 'Swedenvironment' under the Swedish Presidency of the European Union includes listings of useful national contacts for environmental affairs during its term in office. Sweden has earmarked the environment as one of its 'three-E' priority areas for action during the presidency (the other two being enlargement and employment). Swedenvironment is an on-line newsletter produced by the Swedish Ministry of the environment, the Environmental protection agency and the National chemicals inspectorate in Sweden. Headlines from the latest issue include: - 'Green agenda in white landscape' - 'We must find a way to ratification' - 'Water and industrial plants dominate transition measures' - 'Inspections agreed' -' NGOs assessment of the presidency' - 'Harmful fisheries subsidies should be abolished' - 'Economic growth does not reduce environmental impact' - 'Interim target: a minimum of 200 wolves' - 'Two more sites on the world heritage list - 'Banned pesticides on the positive list'.
