JRC calls for skin irritation testing study
The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has issued a call for tenders for a study on skin irritation testing with non-invasive technology and human volunteers. The goal of the European centre for validation of alternative methods (ECVAM) is to define and optimise protocols for human skin irritation testing with non-invasive technology, in such a way that they are suitable for interlaboratory transfer and regulatory application and generate objective and quantitative human data which can be compared with data from in vitro tests for skin irritation. The aim of the study is to develop and standardise protocols for skin irritation testing (acute and chronic) of materials with non-invasive technology in human volunteers subjected to topical exposure. The duration of the contract will be a maximum of 30 monthsFor further information, please contact: Management support unit Joint Research Centre Institute for Health and Consumer Protection Attn: A.
