The European Parliament's Transport Committee has called on the European Commission to allocate money from the EU research budget to research on the health risks to passengers on long haul flights as a matter of urgency.
The plea was included in a report by Irish MEP Gerard Collins, which highlights particular concerns at the risk of deep vein thrombosis, which is believed to be a serious risk on long flights.
