CORDIS, The European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is hosting the first in a series of new publications on innovation studies. The publication 'Building an innovative economy in Europe', allows users to access 12 reports addressing priority policy issues and analysis of trends and impacts of European Innovation policy. Full reports are accessible at the click of a mouse on topics such as innovation policy, technology transfer, innovation finance, innovation management and regional issues and approaches. The studies offer a wide overview on and improved understanding of current innovation activity, emerging barriers and needs and the results of existing policy instruments at national and Community levels. The site also offers links to previous studies on innovation related issues as well as a presentation of forthcoming studies. All the documents will add to forthcoming information on the European innovation scoreboard, which will be published in September 2001. The insights offered by these studies provide valuable support to public policy makers' efforts as well as relevant background information for all innovation stakeholders, including small and medium enterprises (SME) managers.
