New Belgian research and innovation information service on CORDIS
CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is hosting a new service dedicated to research activities in Belgium. Developed jointly by CORDIS and the Belgium Federal Office for Scientific, Technical and Cultural Affairs, the service offers a window on research and innovation services and programmes led by the federal and regional authorities. The service highlights the regions' responsibility for public research funding and the promotion of technologies and offers links to key contacts. This new service provides in depth coverage of news and events. It also offers contacts and links to key institutions, universities, science parks and more. In addition, the service provides dynamic information about Belgian involvement in European research, including details on more than 1,570 projects involving Belgian actors during the Fifth Framework Programme. A selection of project results shows the strength of Belgian research in fields such as chemistry, pharmacy and electronics. This interface will be helpful for users wishing to locate national or regional organisations offering assistance to companies and those wanting clarification on responsibilities within the federal State. It also aims to foster the further integration of Belgian scientists in the European Research Area and their participation in the Sixth Framework Programme. The service is available in Dutch, English, French and German.
