The Commission of the European Communities intends to launch a call for proposals for cooperation projects in the field of research and development as part of the action on scientific and technological cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries. The call will be published in the Official Journal of the European Communities on 31 January 1994. Areas covered include: - Information technology; - Communications; - Data transmissions and language engineering; - Production, processing and materials; - Measurements and testing; - The agri-foodstuffs industry; - Biotechnology. The countries which are the subject of this call are: Albania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belorus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
