The Commission of the European Communities intends to launch a call for proposals concerning research and development projects as part of the action on scientific and technological cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries.

Following a corrigendum to the original notice (OJ No C 338 of 15.12.1993) it should be noted that the call will not be published in the Official Journal of 31 January 1994, as stated. Instead it will appear in the Official Journal of 1 February 1994.

Areas covered will include:
- Information technology;
- Communications;
- Data transmissions and language engineering;
- Production, processing and materials;
- Measurements and testing;
- The agri-foodstuffs industry;
- Biotechnology.

The countries which are the subject of this call are: Albania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belorus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
