Euroabstracts: March 1994
"Euroabstracts" is published each month by DG XIII of the European Commission. It provides abstracts of Community RTD publications in addition to reviews of RTD results, policies and activities. The focus in the March 1994 issue is on RTD in the area of marine technology. In this field the MAST programme has achieved substantial results through collaboration between research organizations and individuals throughout the European Union. An article entitled "Safeguarding Europe's seas: Activities of the MAST Programme" looks at the long-term stability of Europe's marine and coastal ecosystems. A second article, on the EUROMAR projects, considers the development and application of modern technologies in the exploration of relations and cause and effect chains in European seas. Also featured is the network of CORDIS correspondents, set up to promote information flow both to and from the CORDIS user community. The March edition includes some 30 pages of abstracts of recent Community publications on research, science and technology. These cover a wide range of subjects from chemistry, physics and earth sciences to engineering and technology, energy, advanced materials, mathematics, computing, telecommunications, nuclear science, and life sciences. In addition, Euroabstracts provides a section of useful extracts from the CORDIS on-line RTD-News service.
