Survey: users' feedback on the CORDIS Incubators service
CORDIS would like to thank all the users who have recently answered its survey on the Incubators service. Through this survey, users were invited to give their opinion on the quality and the usefulness of the service, and to outline their expectations for the future. Responses received by CORDIS came from a broad range of users and innovation stakeholders. Universities and research centres made up 16 per cent of respondents, SMEs represented 18 per cent, science and technology parks accounted for 8 per cent. Some 18 per cent of the organisations replying were themselves business incubators. Around 80 per cent of respondents stated that they had found the service 'useful' or 'very useful', around a third of them had consulted the site at least once a week, while a further 12 per cent had visited it on a monthly basis. The survey found that 44 per cent visit the CORDIS Incubators service 'to learn more about incubation in Europe', with a further 38 per cent wishing 'to be informed on latest incubation news'. The Business Incubators Database is the focus of interest for the ten per cent of users, who wish to find their nearest incubator. The Business Incubators Database was created by the European Commission's Enterprise Directorate-General to provide an overview of business incubators in the 25 EU Member States, EEA and candidate countries. Through the CORDIS Incubators service, entrepreneurs with new business ideas can find their closest incubator. The service also aids networking among business incubators and provides national, regional and local authorities with information on incubators and their activities.
