This volume is the second of the Tribune collection of publications and deals with the twenty-two projects of the DELTA Programme(Telematics Systems for Flexible and Distance Learning). The overall aim of DELTA is to improve the performance of and access to learning services in Europe based on the optimum use of telematics systems in terms of flexibility, interactivity, remote access and user support. At the same time it aims to improve the market competitiveness of the training industry in terms of more effective services and learning materials, better economies of scale and a market strategy. "DELTA at Work: progress in the European research and development projects" gives an account of the progress of twenty-two recent projects as well as the most significant results half way through this three year programme which will be completed at the end of 1994. The results are presented in five categories: - Training systems; - Market sector; - Design and production of resources; - Telecommunications; - Standards. The progress of the DELTA projects is considered with the objective of presenting an overall perspective of the projects and programme including the interim results and an assessment of the expected final results. This publication is part of the TRIBUNE series of publications. TRIBUNE is a DELTA project for the dissemination of information concerning European research and development in learning technologies activities. Through its publications, TRIBUNE collects, analyses and informs on the developing opinions on education technologies in Europe.
