The European Commission has published a call for proposals in the area of 'science shops' under the Sixth Framework Programme's 'Science and Society' activity. This is one of the areas covered by the 'Structuring the European Research Area' specific programme. The objective of the call is to contribute to universities' mission of sharing knowledge with the society, in particular in the context of regional and local development. This will be done by developing and strengthening science shops (and similar organisations) based in, or cooperating with, universities. This aim is to help science shops address the specific needs identified by local civil society, while at the same time optimising the use of available research results and expertise. In specifying the instruments to be used in these areas, the call requests the use of specific support actions (SSA) and coordination actions (CA). Proposers are advised to consult the full call text at the address below in order to find out the particular instruments requested for each area. The total indicative budget for this call is 1 million euro.To see the call text, please visit: http://fp6.cordis.lu/fp6/call_details.cfm?CALL_ID=263(opens in new window)
