New CORDIS content and services available in Polish
CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service, continues to diversify its multilingual resources and is now offering a substantial amount of services in Polish. Significant parts of CORDIS are now available in six Community languages (German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Polish). The number of information services available in Polish has increased gradually since last year and now includes the CORDIS home page and the Guidance section. CORDIS Guidance is designed to introduce newcomers to CORDIS and help existing users to better understand the full range of information available on the site. It is a portal to a number of topical CORDIS services, provides an overview of the latest news and highlights on the service, and allows users to learn more about CORDIS. Useful links, helpdesk and search functions, as well as documentation and brochures about CORDIS and its services, are also available. The launch of the full Polish version of the CORDIS Guidance section makes this portal available in the largest of the languages of the new EU Member States. It therefore allows CORDIS to serve a considerably larger group of users in their own language. From the Polish home page and the Guidance section, users can access a multitude of other CORDIS services. The Polish version of the Guidance section provides a gateway to the different CORDIS services covering the following areas: - RTD Programmes and other initiatives; - Innovation; - Information services; - National and regional gateways; - Interactive services. The What's New service, which has also been made available in Polish, helps visitors to familiarise themselves with the latest developments on the CORDIS website (including an archive of the last six months and of the whole of 2005). The growing availability of Polish language services on CORDIS reflects the service's commitment to address as many users as possible across a variety of language communities. The use of Polish on CORDIS means that the service now covers the six most widely spoken languages in the EU.
