The European Commission's Research Directorate General has published a call for tenders for mapping the past in view of future developments of the European Research Area (ERA).

The purpose of this call for tender is to launch work aimed at tracing the past evolution of certain aspects of the ERA with a view to developing future scenarios for the EU research system. It consists of three lots:

1) developing a taxonomy of research systems within ERA;
2) analysing public research institutes in Europe in selected science and technology (S&T) fields;
3) costs and benefits of applying to national and EU public research programmes.For further information, please contact:
