The European Commission's Directorate-General for Environment has issued a call for tenders for a service contract on energy and climate system modelling. The objective is to make available updated, quantitative tools and to use these tools to assess proposals resulting from the energy-climate package in the medium (up to 2020) and long term (up to 2030/2050) including economic, environmental and social implications, both for the EU as a whole as well as individual EU Member States. The expected end results are assessments of the major impacts of the selected policy options that can be used as input for impact assessments, as well as strategic decisions on the measures (or packages of measures) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase the security of energy supply and competitiveness of the EU as well as allowing the possibility to assess possible trade-offs or synergies with other policies, in particular related to air pollution. For further information, please contact: European Commission Directorate-General Environment F.2 - Finance BU-5 00/169 B-1049 Brussels Contact point: Markets Team Tel: +32 2 296 00 08 Fax: +32 2 299 44 49 E-mail: ENV-tenders@ec.europa.eu To see the full details of the call, please consult the following web address: http://ted.europa.eu/udl?uri=TED:NOTICE:145495-2007:TEXT:EN:HTML(opens in new window)
