The European Commission's Directorate-General of Energy and Transport has published a call for tenders for a feasibility study for Europe-wide CO2 infrastructures. The purpose of the study is to develop a complete and integrated database of European CO2 sinks and sources and identify the main outline of a CO2 transport infrastructure for different scenarios. The study should analyse results obtained from previous and ongoing projects on CO2 emission points (location and quantity emitted), on potential CO2 storage sites (location, suitability and capacity) and on CO 2 transport infrastructure needs. Where possible, any missing relevant data has to be gathered. All data has to be integrated into one European database on emission sources and CO2 storage sites accessible to all interested parties. Additionally, the study should identify the main characteristics of a core European CO2 transport infrastructure for the years 2030 and 2050 and define regulations which would allow for establishment and operation of a single European database. For further information, please contact: European Commission Directorate-General for Energy and Transport Attn.
