Tender: evaluation study of LIFE+
The European Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment has published a call for tenders for an evaluation of LIFE+, the European financial instrument for the environment for the period 2007-2013. The objective of this study is to evaluate the implementation of the LIFE+ Regulation for the period 2007-2009. The report will present findings and lessons learned, along with a set of detailed recommendations. It is designed primarily to provide the Commission's policy makers and managers with a valuable aid for both the implementation of the current initiatives and for future programming. In particular, the mid-term evaluation should provide useful information as a basis for future communication from the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council on the implementation of LIFE+. The scope of the evaluation should include the initiatives covered by the instrument, i.e. action grants for project implementation, operating grants for NGOs, and public procurement contracts, including communication activities and technical assistance contracts. Given that action grants represent 78% of the total LIFE+ budget, the evaluation should focus on this area. For further information, please contact: European Commission Directorate-General for the Environment F.2 - Finance, BU-5 00/169 BU-5 00/169 B-1049 Brussels, Belgium Tel +32 2 296-0008 Fax +32 2 299-4449 To see the full details of the call, please consult the following web address: http://ted.europa.eu/udl?uri=TED:NOTICE:79961-2009:TEXT:EN:HTML(opens in new window)
