The European Commission, DG XIII, has published the proceedings of the fourth seminar on "practical decommissioning experience with nuclear installations in the European Community". The seminar took place in Mol, Belgium, on 6-7 May 1994. The seminar aimed at gathering a limited number of European decommissioning experts to present and discuss experience, results and conclusions on techniques and procedures presently applied in the dismantling of nuclear installations in the EU. In addition to the four pilot dismantling projects, on decommissioning of nuclear installations (WAGR, BR-3 PWR, KRB-A BWR and AT-1 FBR fuel reprocessing) under the Third Framework programme, the organizers of the seminar selected presentations of topics on projects which have significant scale and/or representative features and which are currently being carried out.
