Council resolution on radioactive-waste management
The European Council has published a resolution on radioactive-waste management. The resolution is intended to protect citizens of the EU against the dangers of ionizing radiation and to protect the environment. It calls for comprehensive policies covering all stages of the nuclear fuel cycle and for the management of radioactive waste. The Council calls on the Commission to continue its work to determine the conditions for recycling and reuse permitting the clearance of radioactive-waste materials under the same conditions throughout the Community.
