The European Commission, DG VII, has published an invitation to tender for a study of the development of Alpine traffic (goods and passengers). The Commission plans to commission a forecasting study on Alpine transport, goods and passengers, for the year 2020. The aim is to have a database and forecasts of trans-Alpine transport for the different Alpine crossings on the basis of macro-economic assumptions. Besides a reference forecast, various assumptions and policies must be tested in alternative scenarios. An integrated database of transport flows by mode, goods category and purpose of the trip must be delivered as well as detailed transport forecasts. Requests to participate must be sent to: European Commission Directorate-General for Transport Unit VII/A-2 Ms. D.
