Rewriting the book on gender equality

When it comes to developing a child’s understanding of gender, along with their mental health and emotional well-being, nothing beats a good book.

How gender is portrayed in literature can have a deep impact on young readers, in some cases even restricting their freedom to express themselves. That’s why the G-BOOK 3 project promotes gender-positive literature for teenagers. In its third edition, the G-BOOK project aims to use literature – along with digital technologies and social media – to raise awareness about gender-related topics amongst readers aged 15–18 years old. The project works closely with several libraries, expanding their offer of gender-positive books and providing them with brand new volumes for their teen literature sections.
