The European Commission, DG XIII, has published a complementary call for proposals (3/95) for the implementation of the "Action plan for the introduction of advanced television services in Europa". The notice is of interest to broadcasters and explains how to obtain the documents needed to make a proposal for Community support for one or more wide-screen broadcasting services. Community resources available for this complementary call for broadcast services will permit the funding of around 2,000 hours of services to be transmitted over the remaining life of the action plan (until 30 June 1997). Broadcasters wishing to respond to this call should submit a written request for further information. The Commission undertakes to send a copy of the information document, entitled "How to make a proposal for broadcast funding", within two days of receiving such a request.
