Commission Decision on the allocation, for 1995, of controlled substances that deplete the ozone layer
On 17 July 1995, the European Commission adopted a Decision modifying its earlier Decision 94/827/EC, of 20 December 1994, on the allocation, for 1995, of quantities of controlled substances which may be used for essential purposes within the Community. This Decision falls within the framework of Council Regulation No 3093/94 on substances that deplete the ozone layer. Under this Regulation, the Commission is required to determine, on an annual basis, the quantities of controlled substances allowed for essential uses, primarily laboratory purposes, within the Community. The Commission Decision also identifies those distributors who may supply controlled substances for laboratory purposes. The present Decision modifies Decision 94/827/EC in light of the enlargement of the Union to include the three new Member States: Austria, Finland and Sweden. It provides for the allocation, for 1995, of quantities of controlled substances for essential uses in these three countries. It also specifies those companies which may take advantage of the essential uses exemption on the use of controlled substances for laboratory purposes.
