ESPRIT on the World Wide Web
Two important developments took place on 15 September 1995 in connection with the ESPRIT programme. One was the publication of the fourth call for proposals under the Fourth Framework Programme for research and technological development and demonstration (1994-1998). The other was the launch of the ESPRIT homepage on the World Wide Web. The service on the WEB has been designed to provide the user with a comprehensive overview of the programme, as well as guided access to information on programme implementation, including the following: - Call for proposals of 15 September 1995 and any subsequent calls; - European conference and exhibition (EITC '95), 27-29 November 1995; - General information about the ESPRIT programme; - Contact points for the ESPRIT information desk, national contact points for the Member States and Innovation Relay Centres. The launch of the Fourth Framework Programme will increase the number of organizations wishing to participate in the Community's research and development programmes. In December 1994, CORDIS launched an Expressions of Interest (EOI) database, RTD-EOI, for the ESPRIT programme to enable potential participants to submit expressions of interest for involvement in the programme electronically. EOI forms can now be submitted through the CORDIS World Wide Web Service. The launch of the ESPRIT homepage follows the establishment of the CORDIS World Wide Web (WWW) Service. The documents made available through this service include calls for proposals, work programmes, information packages and related programme information.
