The European Commission, DG XV, has published an invitation to tender for the completion of a study on the questions raised by the protection of minors vis-à-vis the information society's new services. The study will cover all European Union Member States, the USA, Canada, Japan and the works of international organizations. The study shall reference, introduce and analyze, country-by-country, the different types of instruments and measures used by (or which could be used by) public authorities or private organizations for the protection of minors with regard to new interactive services (on-line or point-to-point services). Moreover, it shall analyze the efficiency and impact of these national measures on service operators.
