The European Commission, DG XII, has announced the events which have been selected, in the first round, in response to the call for proposals for the Training and Mobility of Researchers (TMR) programme which was published on 17 January 1995. The call covered the "Accompanying Measures" activity of the programme: namely Euroconferences (MA1), Summer Schools (MA2) and Practical Training Courses (MA3). Organizers of the events will be able to provide financial support to young scientists, especially female researchers and researchers from less developed regions. The events selected in the area of Chemistry are: - Synthesis, Biological Transformation, Isolation, and Pharmacology of Bioactive Products and their Derivatives (MA 1): 1. Synthesis of Bioactive Natural Products and their Derivatives by using chemical methods, Quedlinburg (DE), April 1996 (3 days); 2. Conformation as a Function of Biological and Chemical Activity, Galway (IE), April 1997 (3 days); 3. Synthesis, Biological Transformation and Isolation of Natural Products, La Laguna, Tenerife (ES), April 1998 (3 days); Contact: Prof. Dr. Lutz F.
