The Karlsruhe Research Centre (FZK), EURATOM, has published an annual report on its Nuclear Fusion Project covering the period October 1994 to September 1995. The FZK Nuclear Fusion Project was founded in 1982 under an association agreement with the European Commission to support the European Fusion Technology programme. Various nuclear fusion programmes and earlier component development for particle accelerators formed the basis for a broad input of FZK in almost all areas of the newly founded Next Step and Long Term Fusion Technology programmes. Major test facilities have been built or upgraded over the past decade, including TOSKA, the tritium laboratory TLK and EDITH. Initially developed for the Next European Torus programme, most of the installations are equally well suited for the International Tokamak Experimental Reactor (ITER), and some 50% of FZK's Fusion programme is now contracted to ITER. The FZK annual report covers activities in: - The Next Step Technology programme; - The development of ECRH power sources; - The long-term programme for materials development; - The blanket development programme. The annexes provide information on participating departments and the project management structure.
