Call for proposals for LEONARDO DA VINCI programme

The European Commission, DG XXII, has published a general call for proposals relating to the action programme for the implementation of a European Community vocational training policy (LEONARDO DA VINCI). The call is open to the 15 Member States of the European Union and the EFTA countries participating in the European Economic Area and covers the following activities of the programme: - Strand II: Support for the improvement of vocational training measures, including university/industry cooperation, concerning undertakings and workers; - Strand III.2.a: Surveys and analyses in the field of vocational training. The notice also includes general information on the calls for proposals, to be published at national level, regarding: - Strand I.1.1: Support for the improvement of vocational training systems and arrangements in the Member States; - Strand I.1.2: Transnational placement and exchange programmes; - Strand III.1: Support for the development of language skills; - Strand III.2.a: Surveys and analyses in the field of vocational training; - Strand III.3.a: Dissemination of innovation in the field of vocational training. For all of the measures in Strands I, II and III (proposals for pilot projects, transnational exchange and placement programmes, surveys and analyses) of the LEONARDO DA VINCI programme, the Commission has identified five priority objectives: - The acquisition of new skills; - Forging closer links between educational or training establishments and enterprises; - Combating exclusion; - Promoting investment in human resources; - Promoting access to skills through the information society in the context of lifelong learning. Potential proposers are advised to consult the LEONARDO DA VINCI "Vademecum" and the application forms, as well as the official tender notice, for further details. The Vademecum and application forms, available in all Community languages, describe the eligibility conditions and criteria applied and the principles regulating the granting of Community support. In addition, the Commission will be organizing a number of "information and meeting days" in various Member States and in Brussels.
