The European Commission, DG XXII, has published a call for proposals for participation in the Community's "Youth for Europe" programme which provides funding for youth projects involving collaboration with counterparts in other Member States. The call concerns activities under Action E.I (Youth Information) of the programme. This will consist of projects in three areas: - Sharing of experience and know-how: study trips, seminars and practical training courses. These projects should be multilateral, and serve in conjunction with projects in the other areas. The Commission will encourage innovative approaches, and would be prepared to consider other types of project under this heading; - Production and broadcasting/broadcasting of information targeted at young people: these projects, involving participants from at least six Member States, should aim at developing and distributing or broadcasting innovative information, having regard to the aims of the "Youth for Europe" programme; - Networking: these projects should aim at enabling information to reach young people in regions of the European Union where information is not readily available, or easy to access. This could include peripheral regions or urban areas, and aid may be given to existing networks wishing to develop activities with such areas. Participation in these projects is open to all persons working with youth organizations, and on youth activities, and to organizations working in the youth media field, at all levels within the European Community. Financial aid to projects may not exceed 50% of expenditure, or ECU 30,000. The Commission will favour requests from organizers who can demonstrate that they have made efforts to raise financing from other sources. It will also give particular attention to innovative projects, aimed at less-favoured regions of Europe, and less-favoured groups of young people.
