The European Commission, DG III and DG XIII, has published an open invitation to tender for a project entitled "European survey of Information Society projects and actions".

The aim of the project is to provide the Commission with an overview of Information Society-related projects and actions. The survey will contain the following sets of information:

- Inventory of Information Society projects, based on a questionnaire which will be provided;
- Overview of the major actions taken for the promotion and launching of the Information Society;
- Overview of existing major network facilities, public or private, with a potential for use in Information Society applications (e.g. gas, rail, water, cable TV, etc.).
