Effects of environmental UV-B radiation on health and ecosystems
The European Commission, DG XIII, has produced a report on the effects of environmental UV-B radiation on health and ecosystems. The report collects together the proceedings of the first European symposium on the subject, held in Munich, Germany, in October 1993. A wide variety of papers was presented at the symposium, including many resulting from research undertaken in the Community's specific research programme in the field of environment and climate. Papers included in the report cover the following areas: - UV-B fluxes, trends, dosimetry, modelling; - UV photochemistry, action spectroscopy; - Materials; - Health effects; - Terrestrial effects; - Aquatic effects.
