Proposed Decision on guidelines for trans-European telecommunications networks
The Council of Ministers of the European Union has published the text of its common position on the proposed Parliament and Council Decision on a series of guidelines for trans-European telecommunications networks (telecommunications TENs). The common position is very close to the Commission's amended proposal following Parliament's first reading. The Council's amendments sought to clarify and ensure consistency in the relationships between the telecommunications TENs and other Community provisions and policies, particularly Decision 2717/95/EC on Euro-ISDN (integrated services digital network) trans-European networks.
