The French Association for Technical Research (ANRT) has published a guide entitled "Access to European R&D", designed to assist applicants for funding from Community RTD programmes, particularly specific programmes of the Fourth RTD Framework Programme.

The guide concentrates on the legal aspects of participation and covers the following topics:

- The model contract;
- The contracting parties;
- Commission funding in shared-cost contracts;
- Regulation of intellectual property;
- The contractual life of projects;
- Different versions of the model contract.

Annexes to the guide contain a glossary, frequently asked questions, the Regulation concerning the diffusion of results of Community RTD projects, and a list of resources.
