Doing business in Europe
The European Commission, DG XXIII, has published a series of booklets entitled "Doing business in Europe" designed to highlight the various initiatives and programmes funded by the European Communities to assist business, and SMEs in particular, in developing their business in Europe. The "Doing business in Europe" brochures have been published in separate editions for each Member State, with editions for each of the official languages of Member States. The brochures contain details of the following initiatives and services: - Euro-Info Centres, for easy access to information on Community matters; - The cooperation networks BRE and BC-Net, which help companies work together; - EUROPARTENARIAT, INTERPRISE and subcontracting initiatives, to promote transnational cooperation; - The Seed Capital funds supported by the Commission; - The Community Initiatives SME and ADAPT, part of the Structural Funds; - The European investment Bank (EIB); - CRAFT and the Technology Stimulation Measures for SMEs under the Fourth RTD Framework Programme. Each brochure contains contacts for each of these initiatives and services, where possible at national level. This allows SMEs wishing to find out more about a particular initiative to obtain information in their own language, and from a contact who is attuned to local conditions and practices.
