CORDIS CD-ROM - First 1997 edition
The latest edition of the CORDIS CD-ROM, containing all information from the nine CORDIS databases, is now available. The CORDIS CD-ROM, updated every quarter, is a valuable and convenient tool for those wishing to retrieve information on Community R&D. The first 1997 edition of the CORDIS CD-ROM provides instant access to a wealth of information, for those searching for partners, for new technologies, or for examples of projects supported by the Community in their field. The CD-ROM includes information on some 32,000 Community-supported research projects, including details of the participating partners, as well as some 16,000 companies or research organizations seeking partners for further research. In addition, the CD-ROM provides access to: - A complete archive of the RTD-News service; - Descriptions of every Community research (and research-related) programme; - Abstracts of Community research publications and policy documents; - Contacts for those involved in Community research; - A guide to the maze of acronyms from programmes and projects. The CD-ROM uses the "Watch-CORDIS" interface, designed for a Windows environment, allowing easy access to data. In addition, for users with on-line access to CORDIS, the CD-ROM allows a unified search, combining the most recent data on-line with the CD-ROM content. This allows users to minimize connection times and therefore communications costs.
