Tarpaulin tapers tampering
The PARCOURI project has focused on two areas of transporting goods either by road or rail that present a weakness to security issues regarding the use of tarpaulin coverings and box-cart doors. Due to their inherent properties, tarpaulins do not protect goods to a satisfactory degree. A sharp cutting knife is usually all that is required to gain access to the goods underneath. While, most box-cart doors are locked by nothing more than a large, high grade padlock. Even the best of such padlocks can be overcome utilising a cutter type tool. To prevent such illegal activity a Belgian firm has designed a unique tarpaulin that resists such interference. Made from lightweight materials, the tarpaulin can be placed on flatbed trucks and rail carts in order to prevent access to the goods behind them. The tarpaulin can be moved laterally like a folding door, but has excellent vertical stiffness and conforms to all transportation standards and codes. The tarpaulin exhibits additional qualities that compare to standard tarpaulin covering that make it a certifiable investment. It is at least as easy to clean as traditional tarpaulins, may be waterproofed and decorated just as standard tarpaulins are, but it exhibits superior qualities as far as hindering unwarranted access to the goods it is covering. The technology is patented.
