Parliamentary Agenda of 9-13 March 1992
RTD-related matters coming before the European Parliament during the week of 9-13 March 1992 include: - The second reading of the Commission's proposal for a Council Decision adopting a specific programme in the field of measurements and testing, 1990-1994 (COM(91) 503); - The second reading of the Commission's proposal for a Council Directive amending Directive 89/336/EEC on the harmonization of the laws of the Member States relating to electromagnetic compatibility (COM(91) 126 of 31.5.1991); - A first reading of the Commission's proposal for a Council Decision on the frequency bands to be established for the coordinate introduction of digital short-range radio (DSSR) in the Community (COM(91) 215 of 12.6.1991); - A first reading of the Commission's proposal granting legal protection for genetically engineered organisms (44 amendments are tabled); - First readings of the proposals for EEC cooperation with Finland in the FOREST programme and with Sweden in the FOREST and REWARD programmes, (COM(91) 403 and COM(91) 402 respectively, of 15.11.1991). Both FOREST and REWARD are part of the RTD programme in the field of raw materials and recycling 1990-1992. The Energy Committee will report on the development of common EC energy policy, while the Regional Affairs Committee will report on "The Regions in the 1990s", the Commission's fourth Periodic Report on the social and economic situation and development of the regions of the Community.
