SOCRATES - Question of mutual interest concerning educational policy
The European Commission, DG XXII, has published a call for proposals relating to the implementation of Chapter III, action 3, point 1 (Questions of mutual interest concerning educational policy) of the SOCRATES Community action programme. This action falls within the context of a series of measures aimed at improving and facilitating the exchange of information and experience in the field of education between countries participating in the SOCRATES programme. Under this call for proposals, the Commission intends to provide financial aid in two areas: - The development of studies and analyses on themes of mutual interest; - Operational activities such as exchanges of experts, study visits, symposia and seminars on these themes. The three priority themes in 1997 will be: - The role of education with regard to young people exiting educational systems without adequate preparation; - The quality of school education; - Lifelong education (new theme). An information dossier containing the SOCRATES programme's "Guide for Applicants", the application form to be used by applicants, summaries of projects financed in connection with previous calls for proposals, and the full text of this call, may be obtained, on request, from the European Commission.
