Generating knowledge for e-learning
The ALFANET project has generated substantial knowledge outcomes relevant to e-learning in Europe. One of these has resulted in the form of pedagogical methods and guidelines. The focus is on forming an adaptable conceptual template that can define courses and be supported by various ALFANET constituents. The ALFANET project contains vital experience in the use of e-learning standards and furthermore has the capacity to employ these standards in an adaptable means throughout the e-learning lifecycle. Thus, it is structured on these standards as well as on its innovative architecture components, providing support for multiple adaptive scenarios. The ALFANET project offers numerous benefits. Some of these include providing various e-learning paths according to user profile, providing the learner with adaptive assessments and offering tutor support as well as recommending material for further study. The knowledge outcomes have resulted in services based architecture, adaptive pilot courses, evaluation results and user manuals to name a few.
