Simulating pen to paper

An electronic surface which simulates paper has been designed for the artistic community to be used in the same way as regular paper.

The CUSTODIEV project has found new means to address artists' needs in a variety of ways. New technology, artistic projects and artists shaping technology have been geared with a creative pull. The focus is on novel ways of designing animation, narrative drawing and performance-driven art through a virtual core prompted by open sources. One of the ways this was done is through the design of an electronic, paper-like surface which can incorporate written as well as drawn input. Since there is a demand for text input on electronic paper, this invisible manner of pen-input can be viewed as a great technological asset. This method is highly suited for artistic use. However, upon entering the mainstream market, it should also become less expensive and more compact with a custom design option. Display size is also expected to increase to A4 in the future.
