T3NET - European Technology Transfer and Training Network
T3NET, the European Technology Transfer and Training Network, is to be launched in July 1997 to promote European exchanges in training by research. T3NET, which is supported by DG XIII of the European Commission, is to be formed when four new countries (Austria, Germany, Norway and Sweden) join the four countries which make up EUNET. France, Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom formed EUNET in 1994, with the support of the Commission, to promote contacts between their respective training by research schemes. The EUNET scheme allows young researchers participating in one of the national schemes to take part in a technology transfer project in a company, university or research institute in one of the other member countries. These projects may last between three months and a year, adding a European dimension to the training. The participating schemes in the EUNET member countries are: - France: CIFRE (Convention Industrielle de Formation par la Recherche); - Denmark: Industrial PhD fellowship programme; - Ireland: Techstart programme; - United Kingdom: Teaching Company Scheme (TCS).
