The European Commission, DG VII, has published an invitation to tender for a study concerning the implementation of a civil/military interface for a satellite-based navigation and positioning network. The Commission's Directorate-General for Transport has decided to conclude a study contract for the implementation of a civil-military interface for a satellite-based navigation and positioning service. The objective of the study is to identify the implications of introducing a satellite navigation service that fully fulfils civilian user requirements. Thus the system security requirements must be dealt with and solutions to the technical, institutional and operational issues in the context must be found. The study should be completed within 12 months.
