EUROGI, the European Umbrella Organization for Geographical Information, has recently published two reports on legal aspects of geographical information (GI). The first report, "Legal protection of geographical information: copyright and related rights - Bottlenecks and recommendations", aims to identify potential bottlenecks to achieving legal protection of GI within the Single Market, and proposes possible solutions. The second report gives an account of a project aimed at setting priorities for legal research on the creation of a European electronic market for GI. This is entitled "Priority plan for legal and economic GI aspects: priorities in legal research into the creation of a European electronic market for geo-information".
