The European Commission, DG XVI, has published an invitation to tender concerning coordinated activities in the environmental field on the Greek islands of Santorini and Thirasia. On the basis of an existing development plan for works and proposals relating to the management and operation of the relevant services, the additional services covered by this tender involve the development of a finalized technical study for defining the works and of the consultant's tender documents to enable the invitation to tender for construction of the works and management of services to be issued. The studies will involve, for the whole project: - Drawing up the preliminary technical study to be submitted for approval by the Interior, Environment, Aegean Sea and Economy ministries; - Drawing up additional documents necessary for obtaining site permits; - Carrying out impact studies; - Assistance towards the Cohesion Fund and the Santorini and Thirasia island Regional Council to carry out all necessary measures from Greek and other European administrative bodies for the financing and development of the pilot scheme; - Drawing up the finalized technical study for defining the works; - Drawing up the invitation to tender documents for the construction of the works and the assigned management of drinking water and waste disposal, collection and treatment services; - Preparation of the Cohesion Fund tender participation documents. The work should be completed within five months.
