The European Commission, DG VII, has published an invitation to tender concerning the updating of GISCO's geographical information system (GIS) relating to the trans-European transport network. The Commission has been appointed by the Trans-European Transport Network Committee, which groups together the Member States and the Commission, to create a trans-European network observatory covering all means of transport included in the guidelines, namely: rail; road; airports; waterways; seaports; inland ports; and intermodal platforms. This observatory will aim to collect detailed information on the trans-European network to facilitate the work of revising the guidelines and to enable Member States to have a vision of all programmes for the creation of infrastructures in the Union. The information collected will be integrated into the geographical information system developed by GISCO (Eurostat), which must be adapted to the needs of the Trans-European Transport Network Committee. The services envisaged are divided into several lots. Service providers may tender for one or more lots simultaneously. The necessary tender documentation may be requested from: European Commission DG VII - Transport Mr. Alain Baron Unit VII/A-2 200 rue de la Loi (BU 33 4/16) B-1049 Brussels Tel. +32-2-2991527; Fax +32-2-2956504 Completed tenders should be submitted to: European Commission DG VII - Transport Archives 200 rue de la Loi (BU-33 1/09) B-1049 Brussels
