A new brochure published by the European Commission, DG XII, presents success stories from Marie Curie Fellows. Every year hundreds of young European scientists receive Marie Curie Fellowships under the EU's Training and Mobility of Researchers (TMR) programme to conduct research in their field outside their home country. The brochure presents the experiences of a number of recent Fellows who have now completed their Fellowships. It emphasizes the value to the participants, both in their scientific careers and in their personal development, giving them entirely new perspectives of Europe. The breadth of scientific fields covered by Fellows is well illustrated in the brochure, with projects undertaken in laboratories across Europe described. Fields covered include chemistry, earth sciences, economics and social sciences, engineering, life sciences, mathematics and physics.
