PROTEXT 5: Multimedia in action
The proceedings of the fifth international PROTEXT Conference (Luxembourg, November 1991) gather together 27 papers on the subject of multimedia technologies, products and services. Contributions from European experts, research directors, company managers, and senior Commission staff (ESPRIT, IMPACT and FAST programmes) cover multimedia topics under the headings of: Approaches and roles; beyond today's computing; learning from experiences; new avenues for research and society. Other selected papers are included. Subjects range from ISDN, press and library applications, intelligent software in the design of business information systems, hypertext, HANDYNET, advances in automatic speech recognition, multimedia interaction with knowledge bases, picture transfer, employee training, and videoconferencing, to industrial multimedia applications, industrial products and markets, and the role of the European Community in multimedia.
