Quality and standards in audiovisual language transfer

The second international conference and exhibition on languages and the media will be held in Berlin, Germany, on 15 and 16 October 1998. The theme "Quality and standards in audiovisual language transfer" will be central to the discussions during the event.

The international exchange and distribution of film and television programmes, satellite broadcasting and the proliferation of channels, new technologies and the media, as well as changing consumer preferences are making translation and other language issues in the media more and more relevant. The conference will therefore address topics such as:
