Business process re-engineering and supporting technologies for electronic commerce

An international workshop on electronic commerce will be held in Vienna, Austria, from 24 to 28 August 1998. It will be held in conjunction with DEXA'98 (see RTD-News RCN 9961) and co-located with the 15th World Computer Congress of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP).

The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners who are working in the key technology areas of electronic commerce to discuss recent research findings and address complementary research and development issues. The particular focus of the event will be on the re-engineering of existing business processes to address the rapid growth of the Internet market and the need for change in organisational structures to adapt to electronic commerce.

The topics to be covered during the workshop include:

- Business process re-engineering in support of electronic commerce;
- Intellectual property rights for electronic commerce in intangible goods;
- Best business practice in electronic commerce;
- Workflow technology and electronic commerce;
- Multimedia and electronic commerce;
- Interoperability, interconnectivity and electronic commerce.
