Multimedia modelling

An international conference on multimedia modelling will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland, from 12 to 15 October 1998. It will provide a forum for discussion on issues such as the efficient representation, processing, interaction, integration, communication, and retrieval of multimedia information.

The conference will feature a series of tutorials covering the following:

- Digital video retrieval;
- Media architectures for the publication, re-editing and re-distribution of documents;
- Operator interaction with simple virtual objects;
- Modelling and navigating in virtual worlds;
- Segmenting, modelling, estimating and recognising human actions.

In addition, a series of technical sessions will cover topics such as hypermedia, image and video retrieval, topological and 3D geometric modelling, video-based multimedia applications, and authoring and visualisation of multimedia applications.
